Default Honda Concerto - No Power Up Hill!?

I have had this problem a few months. Quite often the car behaves as if I am in too high a gear. The revs appear fine but there appears to be no power on hills and I find myself crawling up even the slightest incline in 2nd Gear. Yesterday, I was stopped by some traffic lights at some road works (on a slight hill) and barely managed to pull away in 1st gear. I crawled to the top and once the road levelled off, I was able to move up through the gears and things seemed to return to normal.

if your revs increase but your road speed doesnt, you need a new clutch!

HiIf the engine revs pick up but the road speed doesn't increase then you have a slipping clutch. If it is simply a lack of power your car is suffering from then it is very highly likely a fuel issue, either way too much, or nowhere near enough. The fuelling issue could be due to a weak pump, faulty O2 sensor, faulty coolant sensor, air leak, faulty throttle sensor, faulty MAP or MAF sensors, faulty cam sensor, any number of things. If the engine management light is or has been on then have the codes read out and it will point you in the right direction. If you like you can mail them to me and I'll decypher them for you coz they're quite cryptic at times!!CheersGeordie
