Civics are great cars. However, it is ten years old. If I were you I would spend more money and get a 01-02 Civic SI because it will be more reliable. If you have a lot of money and willing to replace a few things, then its a fine car. It also depends how many miles on the car. Less than 100K buy it, anything more your looking at dropping some money in it.

Hondas have great reputations as used cars. We have a 1997 Civic DX coupe that's still going strong, virtually no problems with it except the normal wear and tear.

I bought a 98 in 2001, I still have it now, it runs great still, as long as the maintenance is kept up on it.

I have a 1996 Honda EX with 68K miles - I LOVE IT!!!! The only problem I ever had with it was one time the window got stuck down (easy repair of about $75). I'll definitely buy a Honda again next time around, but I likethis pone so much I'll probably be driving it for another 10 years!

The civic is always a good choice in a car, but just so you know Honda did not make a Civic SI from 1996-1998. Good luck!
