Default Which is faster, 97-00 Honda Prelude Vtec or 2000 Civic Si?

I am debating on which of these cars I should buy. Which one is faster? I want a car that is fun to drive and be able to feel the power!

honda prelude is the best for mei have one 1999 is greeeaaattso powerfulland its easy to upgrade the engine to put more powerand specially if you have stick shift like mine,wow...go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VTECin here you can see the differentvtec is for powerSi is for compact car (sport injection)Si max power is 160 bhp (standard without upgrade)prelude vtec is min 190 bhp (standard w/o upgrade)well Si is the most powerfull in civic but not in entire hondaSi still below than ex type (ex is new generation of Si)

S2000 is a better buy. Drive one and you'll know why, but you need to handle the attention it gets!

Well the prelude H22 motor makes around 200hp and about 150ft/lbs of torque. The Si makes 160hp and about 112ft/lbs of torque. The civic is lighter but it would still get smoked by the prelude. You could get the civic and swap the motor to an H22 and then it would be an absolute beast.

Both are wonderful vehicles. In Dallas, at rush hour, you will need only enough power to get on the express way. In other works a riding lawn mower is fast enough. By the way, rush hour last all day.

I hope to goodness the Prelude is faster. My wife drives a 00 Si and am less than impressed. Of course at the time we met I was runnin an 00 Mitsu Eclipse GST, THAT was a fun and powerful car. With 2 grand in the motor I was near 400hp and runnin flat 13s in 1/4 mile on pump gas and street radials.

prelude is "faster" We all know its really in the driving. But if you have to grandmas racing then the prelude would win.
