Default h22a prelude swap?

i have a h22a 1992 prelude and my transmission needs to be either reconded or swaped, was wondering if other prelude auto transmissions will be able to swap my mate has acess to a f22a and an h23a would either work and if so which one would be better?

First off, did you swap in the H22 in your 92? I'm only asking because the H22 was only available from 93+. Assuming that you swapped in an H22, if you get an H22 tranny, they're more sports tuned and you'll get not so good gas mileage. An H23 tranny will bolt up and is geared more for daily driving. An F22a1 tranny will also bolt up and is better on gas.It all depends on what you're aiming for, personally I would swap out that auto trans and get an M2B4 H22 LSD tranny.

The h23 tranny would be better, it will bolt up. The f22 tranny or h23 tranny will bolt up. I would recommend the h22a automatic MP0A (non lsd) or the automatic MP1A (lsd). Remember that you HAVE to swap out the TCU (transmission control unit) that coincides with the new tanny you get if it is other then an automatic h22 if that is what you have. If you dont then your shift points will be out a whack and you'll throw a check engine light. Anyhow if the h23 tranny is the one you get, look for a p14 TCU. Also make sure that you have the torque converter off the h23a tranny, you will most likely need it.
