The alarm is not standard on the DX and LX model like the new honda civics sold in australia but I'm sure you carhas an engine immobiliser which is standard across the range. When I bought my Honda civic VTi(which is australia'sentry level model) they said the alarm is optional on the basemodel. The reason alarms are not standard on some cars because some people hate alarms
