Default Why do people like Honda Civics?

There entry level trim sucks, only gets 140 horse power, while for only $790 more you can get the scion tC entry level has 160 horse power, has more standard features than the civic plus looks a heck of alot better. The only advantage i see that the civic having is MPG which is only 7 MPG more than the scion, for only 7 MPG less i would much rather have 160 horse power belive it or not it makes a difference. PLUS scion is made by Toyota which has the best resale value and the most reliable company out there.

Because they're reliable, cheap, good-looking, and have pretty good mileage.By the way, Scions have all of this also, with the exception of one importand factor: reliability. I once read an article in The Wall Street Journal about how so many Scion cars are breaking within a year or two of purchase as new cars.If Scions were as reliable as Civics, then more people would buy them. But they're not. That's why people like Civics better.

The civic has been around way longer than a Scion. It has proven ability to be a pretty fast little car. Light too. It's all about preference. You can pick up a used civic easier than you can a Scion. When racing, it has nothing to do with gas mileage or opptions. It's about wieght and parts availability.

They're reliable and hold their resale value well. And with the prices of gas going nowhere but up, that 7 mpg adds up.Nothing wrong with the Scion that I'm aware of and Toyotas are generally great on the reliable/resale fronts as well. I think the advantage for Civics is their proven track record (Scions haven't been on the market that long).

Youre paying for the quality of Honda one article I read compared it as aircraft build quality excellent if you can afford it otherwise I think the Koreans are catching up fast with great value & long warranties.

Your paying for brand name. Honda is known by all to be quality. Scion...even though made by toyota is still an off brand name. They will need to prove over time that even though they can undercut other makers that they are not compromising quality..thats why toyota used another brand to make the TC. If the car flopped it would be a blow to the company.

Stock the scion might seem better but civics have been known to cover all the things you named to be flaws in their LARGE aftermarket supplies. And most aftermarkets are fairly cheap for the civic. The 99-00 civic si puts out 160hp stock and matches most of is other models in gas. The looks is only a matter of personal opinion. Many bodykits out there for the civic. And when civics break down there are many ppl that know how to fix them up cheap. As for resale...well how many ppl do you know will buy a used scion to a civic? The blue book to a scion is greatly higher compare to a civic on a fair level. That's considering it has mechanical damage, body damage, and others. Not what will the cost be to fix them? You can do the comparison.
