Default Does anyone know what is the transmission fluid capacity for a 98 Honda Accord 2.3L SOHC?

Trying to find out what is the exact transmission fluid capacity for a 98 Honda Accord DX 2.3L SOHC. I lost my owners manual that came with the car and I have ordered a new one but has not arrived yet. I am going to change my transmission fluid and I need to know what is the capacity. So if anyone knows or knows of where I can get this info that would be very helpful. Maybe someone out there has worked on or has the same car. Thanks!!!!!

She holds 4 quarts. Drain it out and fill it with 4 quarts. Make sure to change the sifter filter or you will be acheiving nothing in the change, plus the gasket. DO NOT USE DEXKILL (DEXTRON) Get what they have at your local dealer. DEXtron will eat up your internals. I know the dealer fluid is more expenssive but a transmission is more than the fluid. THe conversion is a bad idea as well. can not tell you the number of trany's I see with people doing the change them selves and the guy at Autozone said it was fine to use DExtron and to use the conversion.

This is what I came up with the owners manual.transmission fluid-auto-7.6 US qt-5 speed-2.1 US qtIf its an automatic, use Honda only fluids .If its a 5 speed, a good brand 10-30 or 10-40 will do.Hope this helps. Good luck!

You can drain and fill it, but that isn't completly changing the fluid, some fluid will still in the in torque converter. Also if it hasn't been flushed in a long time and has over 100k miles on it, leave it alone or your transmission will go bad 90% of the time. Make sure when you do anything if you do that the engine is COLD and NOT running, honda automatic transmissions are somewhat different then other cars while checking the fluid. I am not sure of the fluid capacity off hand, but make sure that you use honda atf, or dexron mercon II if honda atf isn't available.
