id use a long paint stir stick cut in half lengthwise, works just as well as a dipstick

If it is a standard, there is no dipstick - you have to get under and check the gear oil. If it is an automatic look down for the dipstick

Check your owner's manual. There is a dip stick if it is automatic. Otherwise, you have to have it checked for you when you perform your lubrication service.

If it's a manual shift transmission, you'll have to raise the car off of the ground and take out the plug screw and put your pinky finger in the hole,if you get fluid on your finger then it's ok,if not you'll have to fill it until you feel fluid. On an automatic, you should have a dipstip, mostly the handle will be red.

1. Open the hood .2. Put head in engine compartment.3. Have friend slam down hood.4. Have another friend video tape it.5. We all get a good laugh.

even the automatics dont use a dipstick on the pasports...crazy i know...what u have to do is leave it running and pull the top plug out of the trans..yes u have to get under the vehicle...and it has to be fully warmed up and on level ground..if any leaks out when u pull the plug your ok if not u need to fill..u can use dextron mercon since its a gm transmission!
