Default honda civic?

i have friends with civics, i always hear em talk about how fast thiers is...i have the exact same engine...mines not that fast? why? asside from maint. .is there some kind of chip you can installi think its also stock 1.6 ltr...the slow one...also 5 sp. ...my friends civics have many miles on em too...mine I think has 150K ...i dont get it...oh, with the ac on....stopped at light, in order for me to take off...i MUST turn off...or car starts jerking...like almost not rolling at all...whats with that?ummm, i have not idea what u mean....i dont think i have VTEC engine...oh wait, maybe it does say vtec on the valve cover....would u mind explaining in non mechanical terms what ur saying? please

Yes you may have a Honda civic but do not state what type, I have an 89 rex si that does not need a chip........stock 1.6 liter engine ..five speed standard...........pocket rocket!!

they are high revving engines. unless u open them up to about 5k rpm, they will appear to be slow. additionally, there are 3 types of engines in the civic, 1.6 with 106 hp, 1.6 sohc with 129 hp, and 1.6 dohc with 160 hp. but dont worry, u will still get to 7-11 in time to get a slurpee no matter what. lol

if a VTEC powered engine,i strongly reccomend the piggyback ecu from APEXi V-AFC or the new version AFC-Neo.. its a cool looking electronic gauge that can tuned the VTEC to make it faster..and make the VTEC screams earlier..

Well, if your friends' cars have stick shifts, and yours is an automatic that would slow yours down, but like everyone else is saying it all depends on the engine you've got. Who cares how fast it is though. As long as you like it right? :-)
