Default Can a 92-95 Civic VX engine be put into a 89 Civic HB?

I believe the 92-95 VX engines (the high gas economy) engines have the engine code of D15Z1. Can this engine be put into my 89 Civic HB (which has a D15A engine) with relative ease and without much modification?

yes it will but why?.no mounts required just swap the bracket by timing over to new motor . everything should olt right up . for wiring first you have to convert your dx to si wiring then get obd0to obd1 adapter harness and convert your o2 sensor wiring to wide band o2 ..it's not worth the trouble to save a lil gas . dx civic get very good gas already . you can lighten the car used skinnier tires and get good tune up . or just buy a VX ..they re not that expensive probably cost as much as what you re going to spend on the swap .minus the cost of labor

Yes, you will need the ECU and the VX engine harness, it is quite a task and not a normal swap to be done. You need to re-use your transmission however, as the ED/EF chassis Civics (1988-1991) use a cable tranny and EG/EH chassis (1992-1995) use a hydro tranny.
