Default What is needed to swap a B18c1 into a 1997 civic hatch?

And are the hatchs and normal 2/4 door civics the same as in engine swaps?

All the body styles are the same when it comes to swaps. For the swap you need a B series transmission (1994 or later to avoid further complications), new engine mounts (hasport), new axles, new radiator, wiring harness from the B18, new shift linkage, and I think new throttle cable. I am not quite sure what this engine code is, but if it is not an OBDII engine you will need a new computer as well and something to make the different generation components work together (try Hondata.com) Personally, I would take the money that you would spend and get a RWD car. I always wanted to do this swap for my delSol, but I finally realized that FWD sucks. When you put a lot of pwer to it the car will handle like shit. In a RWD car if you lose traction with the drive wheels you can still steer. In a FWD car if you lose traction with the drive wheels you are gonna go straight no matter what. If you do decide to do it good luck and have fun. Take lots of pictures as you take everything apart so that you know how it all goes back together.

Start with a vehicle swap, then go from there.
