What car is that motor in? How much does it weigh? what mods are done to the motor? what does the eclipse have done to it? Are they both manuals. If that motor is in a manual civic then it should beat a stock RS or GS eclipse.

Depends on the type of Eclipse. If it is a turbo, then you will get smoked. I have ignorant Civic drivers try to race me all the time. Vtec does not provide a power boost like a turbo. That being said, if the Eclipse is a trim level without a turbo, then you have a pretty good shot of outrunning them.

What kind of car do you have? If you have a 88-91 civic or crx, you're stuck with a b16a or a b18a. If you have a 92-95 civic, go for the jdm h22a. You'll do 13's easily on the quarter mile. If you have 96-00 civic, and have the money, get a jdm k20. Have it tune correctly with a Hondata ecu, and you'll run low 13's. But however, the Eclipse, with a boost controller will do 13's all day at 15-18lbs.

i'm sorry,.. with a black cover or red cover b16 it is still not enough.. a turbo-kit will be usefull .. and aftermarket tuned ECU from mugen or Hondata.. forget the nos..
