Default Honda recalls,what quality?

Honda recalled about 1 million vehicles last week, what happened to thier quality? And don't tell me it is a good thing and then when GM,Ford or Chrysler recall vehicles say it is because of thier quality.Work at Toledo Jeep assembly, home of Jeep Wrangler,Jeep Liberty and Dodge Nitro.

i own a repair shop and i have known the quality of them was falling off for years, and people get really mad at you if you say anything about a Honda or a Toyota, but the truth is there trying so hard to out sell American cars there letting a lot of things slip by them, and this is helping the American car company's make a good come back,i myself wouldn't buy a Honda or a Toyota, but i have owned them before, and got rid of them because i had no better luck from them than i did a dodge or a Chevy, now i own a few of each, dodge and Chevy's and will stay true to them ,even if they do give an occasional problem, good luck hope this helps.

Recalls aside - I have been a big fan of Japanese quality and reliability since I was young. My family has always owned Japanese including Hondas and I bought a 2004 Honda Accord Couple all pimped out as my first car out of college. WHAT A MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT. The check engine light has been on since 36,300 miles (yea...just in time) the center console display for the CD player went blank at about 55K. Twice I have had plastic parts and wires hanging off the bottom of my car. The cruise control works occasionally. Now finally my clutch has gone on me prematurely (and yes I know how to drive stick very well).Japanese automakers including Toyota have relied on their "reputation" over the past 4 or 5 years and have decided to skimp on quality. I still believe Japanese cars are more reliable but the gap is closing FAST.

Unlike the general public would have you believe, recall are not as bad as they are built up to be. A recall is taking your vehicle back, and refunding your money or fixing a problem that could cause a problem in the future. If anything, they're doing a favor to you by making a better vehicle. They are also showing that they care about their vehicles. Take Ford for example, the don't recall a lot of their vehicles as often as they should. I know several people with a 1998 Ford F-150. On all of them, they had problems with the electrical wiring in the lights and cruise control. Ford should have recalled those vehicles but they didn't. That shows that: A). They don't want bad publicity and/or B). They don't care about the quality of their vehicles or the satisfaction of their customers. Reliability has nothing to do with recalls. Not every single car on this planet is perfect. All car brands have their problems, some of them are just decent enough to admit it and fix it for you.

Honda recalls make big news because they are rare. I have owned both American and Japanese cars and the Japs give me much better reliability than your average American car..So recalls from Japs will always be big news. The stats speak for themselves. Chances are when u buy a Honda it won't break down as quickly as American vehicle. There are a few exceptions though

I like what the guy above said. Recalls are not a bad thing. It means the company cares enough about you to take back your car, fix it and be sure that your satisfied. I can tell you now that Toyota and Honda are very insistent on making sure that their customers are happy. My mom works for Toyota and let me tell you, Toyota cares about it's customers. They are dedicated to bringing the customer the best possible vehicle possible. The same can be said of Honda. American cars on the other hand have been stuggling. They put quantity over quality and now look what has happened.
