I bought the car like couple months agoand now I found out my car is not a VTEC enginea D16Y8, isn't it suppose to be a VTECI saw my engine is a D16Y8 tooI bought the car from a Russian.......Thank youI'm living in U.S.and we don't have vti here....Everyone say I can check from the valve cover, but it's only a silver cover with "honda" on it......plus I never feel vtec kicks in when I drive

It is a VTEC, Honda made a variety of VTEC types. For example the Civic HX was VTEC-E, tuned for higher mpg, and on the EX, it has VTEC only on the intake side, not the exhaust. In other words, since it is a SOHC motor, and not a DOHC (dual cam) like Prelude H22 and Integra GS-R and Type R, B18 it is not tuned for as much power from the factory.
