Default My power windows will not work on my '93 Civic LX sedan, whats wrong??

Hey, Ive got a '93 honda civic lx and suddenly the power windows just stopped working. None of the windows will move at all (up or down), and it is like this no matter which switch you use (ie none of the windows roll down if you use the drivers front or back switchs or the passenger front or back switches). I checked all the fuses and none were blown, so I tried replacing the drivers master pw switch, and they still did not work. So I turned the car on and checked for power in the wire harness that the switch connects into with a voltohmeter and none of these wires had power to them! So I have no idea what is wrong...Im thinking perhaps the fuse for the power windows is bad and maybe you just cant tell really from looking at it, but I do not know which fuse is the power window switch! The cover for my fuse panel is missing and I cannot find a diagram anywhere online! Does anyone have any ideas or have a picture of a fuse panel for one of these cars?? Thanks a ton!!I found a fuse diagram and figured out which fuses were for the windows...all the fuses were good but just to be safe cause I was out of ideas I replaced the 4 fuses for the 4 windows and it didnt make a difference. (yeah the fuses dont share with anything else on this car I found out)I got the haynes manual (cause I dont have the owners manual) but it didnt show me to much, I checked the wiring in the drivers door and it all looked good...and I checked the wiring diagrams in the manual to see where else something could have gone wrong but it looked like almost all the wiring is in the door, and like I said that all looked good. I also took a voltohmeter and checked to see if the switch was getting any power and it wasnt (I did this before I checked the fuses and the wiring). Im out of ideas..Does anyone have any other ideas that would make all the windows go out?? I cant figure this one out! Thanks for all the help!

If it in not the switch is there power going to the switch? Check all fuses and relays.

u can pull out each fuse and check it to see if the little u shaped metal is burnt through. if u dont find a bad fuse inside the car then i suspect that there is a either a fusible link or another fuse in the engine compartment that has blown. understand that a blown fuse is a sign of an electrical problem which means u may have a bad window motor that is blowing fuses. i dont think any other items share a fuse with the windows but i am not positive.

You might have set the window locks by accident. Check the black and red button in front of four window buttons.

The problem could be in the multiplex control unit. This is something that a dealership is going to need to install for you. The control unit is just ahead of the master switch, relativly speaking. Is there anything else in the doors that aren't working, power locks? You may just have a bad ground wire. But, it sounds like the multiplex control unit to me.

I have a similar problem with my 93 honda civic lx. the power windows will work in the rear and passenger side from the individual switches, but the driver master switch will not work any of the power windows. I replaced the drivers side master switch and still have the same problem. Had the motor tested and it works. The power door locks don't work either.

I am having the same problem, I already ordered and put in a new master switch and it still doesn't work....I checked all the fuses and there is a fuse thats marked as the p/w relay on the panel-that was good too! however the rear windows roll up and down fine. But fronts down. I would find it hard to believe that the driver and passenger front's motors or actuators both failed simultaneously. Does anyone have a wiring schematic for this? Its not in my Chiltons guide. I just want to give power or ground to the proper wire so I can roll it up. Im in Chicago and its F'n freezing and snowing out!

power door locks have a "power door lock module" When my power doors locks stopped working I found water inside the module. I decided not to buy another one.
