The accord is alot v6 quicker and the suspension is alot stiffer so it is got alot better handling. You wanna get the avalon if you want a car with a soft suspension and that glides on the road. The accord is alittle more bumpier on the roads so good luck.

Avalon makes it easy. One superb XL/XLS model loaded with an enviable array of standard features. And for those who want a taste of something more, two available Premium Packages - the first delivering a premium JBL Audio System, Rain Sensing Wipers, and more. The second adding a DVD based Navigation System. Under the hood, Avalon delivers power and performance with a 268 horsepower 3.5 litre V6.Accord handling is a product of the race-inspired double-wishbone suspension design with multi-link rear setup. Stabilizer bars reduce body roll, making for quick, confident cornering. Sharply honed power rack-and-pinion steering provides you with an excellent feel for the road and the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) helps ensure smooth, safe stopping. Power is a good thing. So every Accord has more than enough power to satisfy the performance-hungry driver. The 2.4-litre i-VTEC® 4-cylinder engine has 166 horsepower, while the 3.0-litre VTEC® V-6 pumps out an incredibly addictive 244 horses. Plus, all models have a Drive-by-Wire Throttle System™ for smooth engine response and – new for 2007 – there's the quick shifting performance of a 6-speed close-ratio manual transmission available on the V-6 Accord Sedan. What's more, the Accord is a low-emission vehicle, having achieved a Tier 2 Bin 5 rating, proof that power and fuel efficiency can co-exist. One look at the Accord's beautifully styled interior and you quickly realize it's a story without compromise. From the available leather-wrapped steering wheel and 8-way power driver's seat to the aluminum trim detail, every control and every surface has been designed to maximize your comfort, convenience and driving pleasure. Smooth surfaces, tactile switches and plush materials blend together to deliver a refined and luxurious cockpit. Don't be surprised if short drives suddenly turn into longer ones. And when you get home at the end of the day, it's perfectly normal to sit and simply bask in the glory of your surroundings.

The Toyota Avalon XL has a lot better performance than the Honda Accord V6. The Toyota Avalon also has more luxury features.

The Avalon has more power and more luxury features, but the Accord has better handling. The Accord's suspension is stiffer and more sports-orientated. The Avalon has a luxury tuned suspension.

avalon hands down. The V-6 pushes out over hp. They aren't even in same class. Accord is in the same class as the camry.

Normally the Accord is compared with it's rival, the Toyota Camry. The Avalon is a bigger car than the Accord by 6.1 ", has 24 more horsepower, weighs 82 more lbs. yet STILL gets 2 MPG's better than the Accord. I'm a big Honda fan- they build great cars as does Toyota, but I've driven the Avalon , a loaded XLS, and it was a Lexus with a Toyota badgeand price tag! The Avalon is a more luxurious car and one of the best values on the road today. I sincerely WISH Honda made a car like this, as the Accord doesn't compare with it.You'll have to drive them both cuz it's not really "apples to apples" here.

In a straight line the Avalon and V6 accord are pretty close, the avalon has more power but also weighs more. You can also get the V6 accord with a 6 speed which is NO contest against the avalon. The accord V6 automatic and avalon are both low 15 second high 14 second cars in the 1/4 mile, the Accord V6 6 speed is a low to flat 14 second car, it is significantly faster. In terms of handling there is no contest. The Avalon is a smooth refined midsized sedan aimed at the low end luxury market. The accord V6 is aimed at the midsized sport sedan/coupe market and as such it's suspension is set up more towards handling. If you want more luxury feeling, get the Avalon. If you want performance while still maintaining a bit of finesse go for the V6 accord 6 speed.
