Improve the engines breathing, by that i mean fit a performance exhaust, an induction kit/sports air filter and if you can find someone to do it fit a performance ECU to sort out the fuelling. You should see a nice boost in power and it should improve mpg

Get a turbo. Be careful though honda's need better pistons, rods, valves, bearings, seals, ecu chip, injectors and gauges, when adding a turbo.With a 14lbs of boost you could double performance.It would take in twice the air/gas that it does now and produce twice the hp.
