I was wondering if this car is reliable in the long-run, and no major maintainance required. I did hear something about a faulty transmission? i also hear something about paint chipping, to what extent is the severity of this problem? Also, something about cheap leather seats? Hows the navigation system? Should I also consider the Acura TSX (higher mileage) or RSX, which may have better reliability?

Go with the TSX,. My girl friend had 2002 accord V6, it started giving her problems after 100K miles. Its true that the tranny develops problems and the paing easily chips away and after 100k, and trust me all the belts start cracking easily and you will be forced to replace them (except the timing belt). Maintainence after 100k will be pretty costly. One of my buddies has a TSX he brought from an auction (it was in an accident) for $4500 with only 60k miles and he repired it and he races with the car. Now he has about 115k miles on it and it never gives him problems. It TSX didnt give problems to my buddy (he drives 100+ everytime) then trust me you will not have any problems with it.
