Hi! I use to work on use cars for a Toyota Dealer. And I found out that customers returned their hybrid vehicles because the battery was to expensive and to dangerous. The battery is about $8,000 dollars and lasts about 7-10 years depending on use. And also it very dangerous because it is located under the back seat. The back seat should remain water free because the risk of shock and explosion. If I were you I pick the Honda Civic because it has a very good gas mileage and the maintenance is inexpensive. Very reliable cars.
