i'm looking for something that is possible, even though it might be difficult, aka take a while to work it out. thanks a lot.please do not post any stupid or rhetorical comments. this is a honest question for a mature audience that has knowledge or experience in this arena. i am interested in a complete engine swap for this vehicle but not sure where to get started on this project. any PRODUCTIVE or POSITIVE input would be greatly appreciated. thank you...

Your best bet would be to stay with a honda motor. Since you have a '03 try to use a '03 motor or newer. I'd stay away form B-series motors just because there '01 and older and more trouble to swap than there worth into your body style civic. Your best bet would be a K-series motor. you will need motor mounts, wiring transmission cables and many other parts but would be fun in the end.
