Ur car will run... but the problem is that when a V-tec lift kicks in at high rev, the entire air/fuel mixture is different.. you don't want a ECU thats now programs for that drivetrain. Is like... if the fuel injector sprays the gasoline at the rate of V-tec lift, but the valve openning is not designed for such amount of air intake, you gonna screw something up...And no, ECU does not adapt the car automatically nor driving habit, thats not even part of ECU computer programming.

There is no point in doing this, it will only make your car throw a CEL for sure and drive really bad. So it will plug in but it will not work like the dx ecu, because that ecu is tuned for the non vtec engine of the dx.
