Hey i just bought some rockford t162c 6.5 in speakers for the front of my car and didnt realize that i would have to do some cutting. Is it hard to self install these speakers and what would i have to do, because i am deciding if i should do it myself or have best buy do it. Also if i decide to have best buy install them has anyone had experience with their installation because i have never used them before to install audio.

someone had told me that its pretty simple to change the front speakers and very complicated to change the rear. remove the speaker cover and remove the screws believe there is about 4 not shure and then remove the wiring and plug into new speakers and screw them back on

what do you have to cut first of all. If you have to cut anything then that means that those speakers are not the right size for you speaker input. And like the guy above me said, all you have to do is remove the speaker cover, unscrew, unplug, now plug new speaker, screw in, place speaker cover. The only time you should have to do any mod to speaker inplacment is if you change your size from like 6.5" to like 6.5x3.5 speakers, then you would have to cut away at the interior and drill some new holes, but most peopel would definatly get a professional to do that unless you dont mind messing your car up a little bit or if your a professional. But yeah the same goes for the back speakers, just 6 simple little steps does the job.

you dont have to make any cutting to install new speakers. As long as they sold u the right size. Take off the speaker cover for the front and remove the screws and unplug the speaker.. its a tight fit getting it out of the speaker hole but u can force it without breaking anything...same with the back speakers but they are a bit hard to force in and out... its a really really tight fit but u can do it. I did it with my car in the parking lot of circuit city. Also i wouldnt deal with best but installing them. They are just like circuit city and will rip you off.. they charge you 50 bucks for a 8 dollar wire harness and tell you installation is free...all BS...and thers been a lot of times they have completley ruined some things on a car so i wouldnt let them get within 10 feet of my car...good luck hope everything works just remember it takes a little force to get them in and out but once they are in they will fall into place. make sure to tighten the screws up and hook up the wires before trying to force them into place.
