well it sounds like it is broken but it could just be stuff too. But you won't till you get in the dash so you can mess with it. So my best advice is call and get it priced so you know how much it will cost IF you need one. So pull off the front part of the driver side dash and get in there and see what you can do to get it working.

IF MEMORY SERVES THERE IS A SERVICE DOOE UNDER THE REAR SEAR WHICH GIVES YOU ACCESS TO THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK REMOVE THE SCREWS AND THER SHOULD BE A 3 OR 4 WIRE PLUGIN YOU CAN PROBE THE PLUG . 1 WILL BE A 12 VOLT WIIRE FOR THE PUMP 1 FOR GROUND 1 FOR THE SENDING UNIT. IF YOU PROBE THE SENDING UNIT WIRE WITH A CIRCIUT TESTER AN THE KEY IN THE ON POSTION IF THE GAGE MOVES THEN THE PROBLEM IS THE SENDING UNIT. TRY THIS FIRST . BEFORE YOU TEAR INTO THE DASH.
