YOu don;t need to replace the engine. Go to www.kingmotorsports.com. They'll help.

The fastest engine you can put into a 1990 accord is an H22 prelude engine. It will cost you about $2000 to buy and about $1500 to put in. However you are going to have to convert the computer from OBDO to OBD1

I recommend putting the the same kind of engine back into your car. It should cost you a grand for the stock engine including the labor if you shop around. If you want a fast car, I recommend getting the little brother of the hondas, The Civic and putting in a Prelude or and Integra engine in there. It all depends on how you plan to drive the car. On the track or for daily use. After you decide that part, then you should know what engine you want. Good Luck!

I hate saying this since I've personally sunk thousands into vehicles that were too old and too busted to be worth it but dude it's a 1990 uni body car. If you put serious horses under the hood you will tear the heck outta the other old and busted 1990 parts. If your body is in great shape, NO RUST, and you have already or are planning on upgrading your drive train reinforcing the suspension the mounts everything then I would make the following recommendation: The 2000 era 3.0-liter (stock200-hp), should mate up to the 4-speed automatic. Yes, you will be changing your computer and alot of wiring. Try a used mill from the junk yard take it to a performance engine shop have it rebuilt, mapped, matched, ported, polished, de-stroked and balanced. You'll be topping out over 300hp from there. You can always add turbo or dual turbo later on down the road and get close to 500 Ponies. The J30A Engine is about $500- $700 at any yard or on EBAY and the work should be about $1500 - $2000. As far as the Wire harness and various parts guessing less then $1000 for the needed extras like a PCM, mounts, exhaust, gages, etc.You said the fastest engine ... I hope you didn't mean the quickest .. that would be entirely different.. lolHave fun!

I would DEFINITELY go JDM H22a (Japan Domestic Market's Prelude engine). 200hp stock, the engine (including trans, ecu, all sensors, etc.) should cost around $2000. Plus you should probably get new stronger axles for it, so that should be about $200. If you take it to a shop to get it put in, it'll be between $1000-2000. Don't put much boost on it, if any, if you're wanting this engine to last for more than 100k miles. I am actually planning on doing this swap to my 1991 accord lx. I'm not taking it to a shop to get it put in, however. I know a guy who worked at a honda dealership for a while that is going to help me put it in in his garage. You should try and find someone like this, as the installation will cost much less this way.If you want more horses, replace all internals, suspension, exhaust (you won't need more than 2.5"), intake (get AEM or K&N filter on a cold air intake), buy a decently sized turbo and intercooler from a reputable company such as Turbonetics or Greddy (that would be about another 2 grand), get a port & polished racing h22 head, and even get an engine management system.

The fastest motor in stock form that you can put in it would be the h22a type s engine from the prelude type s in japan. It has 220 hp, decent gear ratios, and a limited slip differential. Your car is already obd1 so thats a good thing. The 1990-95 accord are obd1.
