Default Ok All of you smarty pants out there ...Honda CR-V What does the CR-V stand for??

I bought one and I LOVE it. But when I asked what CR-V meant nobody at the dealership knew. what's up with that? They all had there own definition like "cute run-around vehicle" but no one could give me a real answer. does anybody know? or did the japanese manufacturers just pick those letters at random to drive people like me crazy?

I think it means "Compact Recreational Vehicle."Don't feel bad-I couldn't get anybody at Saturn to tell me what my VUE stands for.

I know alot of people will think is "Compact recreational vehicle" but in all honesty that's not it al all.The real meaning of the CR-V is just as simple as "Comfortable Runabout Vehicle" and that you can take to the bank my friend and if anyone tries to tell you different tell them to take a long jump off of a short bridge..

So many wise people, yet so little sources...There are discrepancies as to what "CR-V" stands for, with Honda sources in different markets citing different meanings. Though Honda sales literature in UK reportedly makes references to "Compact Recreational Vehicle", other Honda references (including the official Honda Japan CR-V Fact Book and Honda Worldwide) cite "Comfortable Runabout Vehicle".You decide.

CRAVEYou crave it, but it costs too much to add the A and the E to the letters. They are too hard to make reliably and they just look bad in chrome. That is why it is just CR-V. CR-V- looks bad and it gives you just a little too much of a hint, so it is just CR-V.Hey, it is as good as anything else!
