My hubby and I have a 1986 Honda civic Hatchback. Since we have owned the car when we make a sharp left turn our PGM FI light comes on. The only way to get it to go off is to turn off engine and restart. We also notice that when it is about to come on the car is a little sluggish or rough. But when the light comes on everything resumes to normal operation like it never happened. Is there anything we can do without taking it to a shop to get this fixed? It rarely does this when running around town in straight lines. And never on a right hand turn. Sounds odd but this is what we notice.

The car is setting a code when the light comes on. When the light comes on pull over DO NOT TURN OFF the car then look under the passenger seat you should see 4 red lights take note of which ones are on this is the code. after you get the code you can find the source of the problem. The code will point you to what is (loose or malfunctioning) when you look up what item the code is for.
