Purpose of changing timing belt and possible repurcsuuions if not done? Am i taking a chance, if not replaced, or am i okay to let it go and nothing may happen from it?

Most Honda need the timing belt replaced at 70K to 90K depends on the car, If you don't replace it you might bend the valves if it brakes. The timing belt is easy to replace and most mechanically inclined people can do it in a few hours, just get the book its really easy to do, Good Luck and GOD Bless,Jackie

Depends on your mileage and the climate you live in....if you live in the high desert you're gonna wanna change it sooner than later b/c the heat can dry it out.....If you don't change it, it could snap on ya & that's a whole bunch of fun!!!

The timing belt drives the camshaft. Over time this belt will wear and break. Change interval is 90K or 6 years--which ever comes first. If the timing belt breaks, it is possible (not always) to damage your engine typically causing bent valves. Replacement should not be attempted by a beginner. Proper crank to cam timing is very critical. If incorrect, you could also bent valves.

i've owned a couple of hondas and i had only one break and is was due to over-reving if you don't change it some motors are possiable interference when that happens you get bent vavles and you also just flat spoted the rod and main bearings all and all just start looking for another motor
