Default Honda cruise control problem!?

I had a Honda Accord 1999 EX 5 speed manual. I used the cruise control very often. Recently the cruise control was stop working. The light in the console was not light up when pushed in. I had checked the fuse box, but I don’t not know which one, so I stick my nose in there and smell them to see if any burnt up. I don’t smell any. I would be very appreciated if any expert could thoroughly describe what could go wrong and how to fix it. I would like at least arm with some knowledge before bringing my car to the shop/dealer. Thanks!

You need to buy a 1999 Honda Accord manual from ebay and it shows the schematic for where all of your fuses are.It is too detailed to say here but once you buy the manual or use someone else's, you will have the information you need to REPLACE the blown fuse.

I had the same problem with my '93 del Sol automatic. My best advice is to take it up to the Honda dealership. It may cost an arm and a leg but they do resolve it in a timely manner and tell you about others problems. After they finished fixing my cruise control they told me about the pinging noise in my engine.

First, do this test. Get in your car and MAKE SURE the transmission is in neutral. After making sure the transmission is in NEUTRAL, start your vehicle WITHOUT depressing the clutch pedal. If it starts, the problem lies in the clutch switch. The clutch switch is part of the cruise control circuit in a manual transmission vehicle. Most likely, the problem is caused by a worn or broken plastic pad that opens the clutch switch. This plastic pad costs less than $3.00 and very easy to replace. contact me for further instructions. PLEASE MAKE SURE THE TRANSMISSION IS IN NEUTRAL BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT THIS TEST. IF IT IS NOT, YOU VEHICLE COULD LAUNCH FORWARD.

Hello Hai L. If you have not already resolved your cruise problem, your local Library may have the "Alldata Repair Manual" data base. It is free to access. You'll need a memory stick to download and bring home what you find. You can look up location of the fuses that control your cruise, horn and brakelight. I have a 91 Hon Acc EX, 5 spd with a broken Cruise Control. I am still trying to zero in on the cause. I've changed out eveything accept the Set/Resume swithch to no avail. The Set/Resume switch passes the continuity check called out in my repair manual. Good luck!
