If it hasnt been flooded, or if there is no engine damage, then it is safe, also you will be saving a lot of money buying a rebuildable. Many people are scared of buying salvage title cars, if it was rebuilt by a pro, you should have no problems

why is it salvage? could be abandoned, towed, and gotten another(salvage) title. in that case, maybe. if it has a salvage title, because it was damaged in a crash, and totalled, then fixed then maybe not. if it was in a flood,or some other disaster, then heck no. salvage titles usually have a way of showing up in a big, expensive way, the reason that it has a salvage title. a 7 year old honda with only 40k on it? nah, not for me... and i like honda's. something isn't right here. i would pass.

If it was just minor or fixable body damage, it's just as safe as buying a car with a clear title, maybe even safer, because salvage cars have to go through some additional tests to get their title from the DMV, at least here in California. Is it safe? It depends on how bad it was crashed and if it was fixed properly. Some salvage cars are only slightly crashed, such that the safety of the car is not affected.

at work i see alot of salvage title vehicles come in the shop. the only problem there is that if there is an issue with your vehicle and Honda would normally cover it through a warranty extension, salvage title cars are not eligible because the warranty has been canceled. check the vin# 1st before purchase and if the warranty has been canceled in Honda's system, don't buy it. this will save you alot of headache if you know what you're dealing with up front.

well... depending on the price really. But just check it out first. If it was hit in he back make sur they didn't just paste on bondo on it. a salvage vehicle is not that big of a deal. the price is really nice and if u planning on driving it for a while the savings will be in the long run. there are a couple of things that is special with this car that you will need to check. Check, of course, the engine. make sure the engine has a B16A2 stamped on the block. it should be a dual overhead cam engine with vtec (DOHC Vtec). most of these cars are salvage because it is stolen an the engine is taken out. also check the front strut tower brace, lower sway bars, front lip and rear disk. common items taken out. And check the ecu for the car. make sure they didn't put in a chipped ecu. but if the price is right and the fixed right it shouldn't be that big of deal. if you really want to ease your mind run a carfax. that should tell you why it is salvage. tap the back areas in questions to see if it is filled up with bondo and you should be able to tell if a new quarter panel was installed or not. if u can't tell then it is a quality repair. the best repair is one that you can't tell. i hope this helps.haitech

The ONLY way the car would have a salvage title is by being totaled out from an insurance company, which means that at one point the car was in a bad enough accident that the insurance company totaled the car out. I would not suggest buying this car. Considering that it is only 6 years old with very low milage then it had to have a LOT of damage to the car. More then likely what happened is it was totaled and a body shop went to an insurance auction bought the car at an extremely low price did some cheap work to the car and is flipping it to make money off the car. Again I would NOT buy this car!!!

Check it out closely. Most salvaged can be fixed depends on price and how it was fixed. If it is perfect appearing I would still only pay loan value or less. Around $6500-7000. If the miles can be documented it is very good low miles. Low mileage doesn't mean taken care of though.KC
