having problems with the door lock on a 1998 honda accord door will not open?

sure its not just frozen? (if in cold area)if the handles work, the key turns, but the door won't open....then most likely one of the locking rocks either broke or came apart (slipped apart). A certified mechanic would be needed at this point.

Do you open with remote or with key? If using remote and only one door opens, try double clicking remote. If still not working, it is probably a bad lock solenoid inside the door. Electric solenoids operate the locking mechanism if you have electric locks. If using a key and it wont open, you are dealing with a loose or broken lock shaft and either way, you are looking at opening up the door. Take it to a reputable mechanic. If you shop for the lowest price, remember that **people who work for less know what their work is worth**.

if you can lock/unlock manually but the remote nor the automatic lock will lock or unlock one specific side is due to an actuator that is faulty. take it to someone who knows what they're doing.

You really need to give more information to be able to answer this question... You are describing what seems like two different problems... either your doors aren't unlocking then the question is... Is that with the keyless remote or is that manually? Then your stating the door won't open... Is that because you can't get it unlocked or is it that you can unlock it and it won't open??
