I have a 96' Honda Civic EX and i want a decent boost in power. The engine is all stock...the only aftremarket parts on it is the exhaust system. I have had ppl tell me to go with a air intake, some say tune&intake, some say headers...i dont know if i should just skip all that and go with a supercharger or something. Im looking to spend under 600$(for intake and headers...i know forced intake sysetms run way over that)........does anyone have any suggestions?

An intake is a cheap way to add a little more response and much more sound. I would add one if you are looking for those characteristics. A real super charger would put you above the $600 price range, as would a turbo. I guess it depends how much power you want and what you intend to do with the car. A nitrous kit ($500) is prolly the cheapest way to add a lot of power and if done properly won't ruin the engine too fast, but does degrade the engine over time. I would go with a greddy turbo kit if it were mine. These kits are great, reliable, and don't affect the mileage at all if you can keep off of the throttle a little. I know new these list @ $1400 w/o intercooler. Used you could get most everything you need for $1000-$1200. Honestly it sounds like a lot of $ but the outcome is great and you will be much happier with the results. I have had D series with turbo and w/o. Per dollar if you wish to be in the range of 170 hp to the wheels then turbo is the best upgrade. Supercharger kits can be found cheap too used. I can't comment on these b/c I have never had one, rode in one, or installed one. Basically boost is boost. New turbos don't have near as much lag as they used too. So 7psi supercharged is very close to 7psi turbo when proper tunes and sizing is utilized. Ask more questions I will be on here, KC

You should get a chip/programmer. That will give you more power than any bolt ons. Check it out at JETCHIPS.comThey will add about 10 Hp and that is alot being you only have 127 right? A Cold air intake might at 3-4 (270$). A lightened pulley 1hp maybe(80$). Cat-back 6Hp (450-600$). And the chip will be only about 300$
