Default 1998 Honda Prelude non-SH (5spd) engine replacement... Will the head and block from a 92-96 JDM

H22A work?!? I'm thinking about getting one of those used JDM engines with 30K or so miles. I don't care about making it faster or anything like that, I just want to replace the stock head and block. Which engine would I get? H22A? H22A4? What year? I know mine is OBD2 but all I can find are 92-96 OBD1 H22's. The guy from Hmotorsonline said that the head and block of a 92-95 JDM H22A is exactly the same as mine. He said as long as I switch over all of the USDM components (intake and exhaust manifold, ecu, etc.) to the JDM head and block then its just like a factory replacement. And it will also stay OBD2.What do you guys think? Any help with be greatly appreciated.

It will fit without any problems at all, just get one that is obd2, they do have them. All jdm engines no matter what kind is just h22a. For example a 220hp jdm prelude type s engine is marked "h22a" and a base 200hp engine in japan is also marked "h22a". Any h22a will work, it will be easier if you get the obd2 version, or you can convert to obd1. Hope this helps.
