I have owned two Accords - an 87 and a 2000 model. I can't therefore comment fairly on Camrys but I don't think they are inferior to Accords. Both have won many industry awards like JD Power and Car Of The Year. Accords are fairly conservative styling wise compared to Camrys. The current year Camry is a very handsome car. You can't go wrong with either. Personally I prefer Accords having owned two. Accords are simply indestructible, refined and a marvellous companion over the years.

definantly the CAMRY!!! I owned a Honda Accord in 1990, and I bought it over the box-shaped camry. That was almost 20 years ago. Now, Honda's famous quality, reliablility, and price is now gone and toyota is winning that game. The accord is going to cost about 2-3k more than the camry with the same options. And cost more to repair. With no doubt, I would say get the 07-up. The new accords are ALREADY starting to have problems. Oh and did I mention the 8 issues I've already had with my 06' Honda Pilot with only 3000 miles? The bottom line is that Honda once was on top, but thats Toyotas turf now. I think I'm gonna buy a 07 Camry CE to drive to work. its only $16.5k !!!

For an unbiased opinion, check out the repair records from the magazine "Consumer Reports". Usually their auto issue comes out in April. Most libraries carry this magazine and hold onto back issues. My personal favorite is the Accord. I like Hondas in general, and I'm on my 3rd Honda. The dealer gives me the service maintenance record, so I know when to bring it in, and I have an idea of the cost way in advance. One disadvantage is that parts are very expensive, but the car will last a long time.

Accords are usually more stylish, handle a little better, and have a bit more power than Camrys. Camrys are more conservative, get better gas mileage, have a little more interior room, and have a softer ride. In general the Accord is the more performance oriented driver's car and the Camry is more of a luxury car. Both are very reliable, good all around cars, so go with the one that best suits your personality.

We've owned two Camrys, a '91 and a '95. Both had five-speed manual transmissions. Our '91 was better than the '95. I haven't had any experience with Accords, but they're reliable, as are Camrys. Go drive both, compare prices, options, etc.But as to which is better, when all is said and done, I'd say, flip a coin.

Before this year, I would have said Accord, but the new Camrys are really good looking and the new Accords (with their funky little tail lights) are ugly, especially the sedans. I had a '92 Accord coupe and loved it, and I have an '07 civic...I'm a Honda lifer. But if you're buying brand new, take the Camry (or the civic, of course!). Way more fashion forward.
