Default My 1989 Honda Prelude 2.0si will sometimes downshift from 4th to 3rd while driving 60-70 mph/?

This also has occured while driving-cruising when I "do something electrical" such as turning off or on; radio, cruise control, etc. If anyone has a clue concerning what causes this problem, please help solve ":The Electric or Whimsical Downshift Riddle", Thanks!

i own a repair shop, and actually your not the only one having this problem right now,a few of those are doing the same thing, its the shift solenoid in the transmission going bad on it,that's what causes this to happen, you,ll need to take it to a good transmission mechanic and let him drive it and see for sure, good luck,i hope this help,s.

the downshift linkage needs to be reset at the throttle body.adjusting the linkage will change the electrical signal making other electrical fluctuations unable to drop the voltage below the downshift point resulting in no more unexpected downshifts. be sure to steer clear of the guys that say they gotta take your tranny apart,...after you leave, they reset the linkage, 2 minutes,...and tell you you owe them for dropping the valve boby and replacing the solinoids,...$1600.00 pay or they keep your car...i'm sure there is only one crook out there...
