Unless you have a civic SI, it isn't worth pimping. Maybe adding wheels and tires would be fine, just hang on to the stock ones to put back on it if you decide to sell. Thats about as far as I would go. Body kits are hidious, loud exhausts are annoying to anyone older than 17, and colored lights are trashy. But its your decision, you can go for looks, performance, or whatever you want, just keep it tasteful because I honestly laugh at someone every day whan I see their civic with racing stripes, and an autozone muffler, and blue led light where the windshield fluid squirts. You don't want to be laughed at, but you want to customize your car, upgrade the stereo, and add some rims and tires, they make any car look completely different.

What type of "pimping" are you looking at doing? Show, Go or both. I personally like clean non-flashy rides that have some "get-up-n-go". There are a lot of things you can do to a Civic. Motor swap, wheels & tires, suspension, exhaust.....etc. You can customize until your hearts content. It all depends on how deep your pockets are and what your ultimate goal is.I'll post some links so you can check some cars out and look for parts.

This car is a great canvas to work with. you can go from mild to wild all on a simple budget. My preference is a simple understated look. Get black housing headlights from ($80), 'JDM' mesh front grill ($20) 1999-2000 red/clear oem taillights ($125) , a mild drop from springs eighbach or tein ($100), and a fresh paint job ($800). maybe remove all of the emblems too. Options with the paint would be to paint all of the trim black (like DX) or the same color as the car (like EX). Depends on if your style. If you want a crazy style:Get Projector headlights ($80) Buddy club body kit (my favorite of the kits) ($400) altezza tailights ($50)Spings ($100) and Rims (350-800) Depending of style and tire price. And paint it to finish the look ($800)Stock '99 SI rims ($450) look great too and don't cause too much attention.all of this stuff can be bought on ebay and installed with medium tech ability.Good luck, KC
