it happnened overnight and the reason i say that cause the next day i just started to notice it, please dont say anything stupid like something might have been put in the engine like sugar, please if you know what it might be and how much it might cost to fix please help

if ticking sound when running or at idle....its most likely your lifters. look into getting a valve adjustment done.if the sound is after the car has been ran and is sitting, then its the heat shield on the exhaust shrinking back. when its shrinks back to size it makes a tick/click sound.
