A friend of mine is looking to purchase a 2007 CR-V or 2007 Fit but he wants to know if he hooks up his ipod to the stereo, is he able to scroll through his playlist, songs, etc through the stereo or does he actually have to scroll through the ipod itself?

The Fit and the CR-V do not need the music link. Those 2 cars actually had the links already installed on the assembly line. You will have to scroll through the list on the radio of the car...but you can't browse by catagory just from the first song to the last.. So if he wants to hear the 156th song he will have to scroll all the way to it first. It kind of suck for that reason but it still plays your i-pod in your car...

I have recently asked the same question from Honda's sales man. he said CR-V comes with option where you can hook up your iPOD but you would have to use your iPOD in order to scroll to diff. songs. If you want to use your stereo controls to handle all or most of iPOD functions you would need Music Link which is avaialble as an option in CR-V EX model and up.
