Default how can you restore a tranmission without buying one or rebuilding it honda accord 1984 automatic?

my car cranks up it wont switch gears when i switch into park it makes a annnnt sound the trans fliuds are ok whats the promblem and the cheapest way to get my car well again

My car did that a few years ago. It wouldn't shift down from high to low when it was in drive. It was in high gear all the time. It needed to be rebuilt. Sorry..

The only cheap (er) possibility is perhaps it is just the modulator which affects shifting, otherwise it is either replace or rebuild.

it probably is a bad transmission,and the car is so old it would not be worth the cost to replace it!

it sounds like its worn out, could be the pump or tourque convertor. try having the fluid and filter changed, the filter screen could be clogged but it sounds like its shot
