I have a 147 hp automatic 2006 Honda Civic Coupe EX and I want to know exactly how fast it is compared with other cars in its group. What is its speed compared with other cars? It also has a digital spedometer, what is its limit? 140? 160? I heard it was 160 on the dash, but since it is digital I am not sure?Last, the gears have Drive, Drive3, 2, and 1? What exactly are those? I often drive fast and switch to Drive3 to go faster....is that harmful to my car if I time the shift???Please go into detail with the answers so I can finally stop wondering about all those questions?BONUS: 2007 Honda Civic Coupe vs. 2007 Nissan 350Z??????

if you have no idea what the drive selection is on a car...then you should NOT be driving, u got that? OMG i cannot believe u have been driving for so long and NOT know that. Also, stop being lazy and just check the owner's manual or spec for the hp for your car...OMG u are lazy!Nissan 350Z but ur not qualified to drive such a nice car imo.

I'd be surprised if you would manage 17 seconds in the quarter mile with it, especially since its an automatic. 147 horsepower is what its making at the crankshaft, its probably making somewhere around 90-110 at the wheels. How fast is it Compared to other economy cars? They are built for fuel economy not speed. I just lost a guy I knew from school who wrapped his civic into a Jeep Liberty he and his girlfriend died on impact, if I were you I'd consider something more durable with a better crash test rating to go speeding around in. Its never a good idea to play Vin Diesel anyway. The speedometer really doesnt have any bearing on the top speed, different driving conditions, if youre going uphill, practically speaking, you'd be lucky to do 90mph. You have a 3 speed automatic plus overdrive. The overdrive is technically a 4th gear, it sacrifices power to give you better fuel economy when maintaining highway speeds. It will go into overdrive somewhere between 30-40 mph unless you push down the pedal. I'd actually leave it in gear 3 for normal driving, unless you plan on keeping the same pace for a long period of time (I.e. road trip). The transmission will switch back and forth between overdrive and 3rd which will decrease the life of the transmission. 2007 civic vs Nissan 350? I think you know the answer to that.

You have a 1.8L 140hp engine. Not that fast. I have 2.1L 91 Prelude SI that came stock with 145hp. 15 years apart and mine has 5 more hp. You pretty much match up with the old school early-mid 90's Hondas/Acura and non turbo mitsubishis. Your tach will probably be around the 140-160 range, but you wont get up there thanks to the speed governor.D-D3 is a gear selection setting, the higher you go the later the transmission will shift for a more "sportier" feel. It just makes it seems like you're going fast, but you're actually just shifting at a higher RPM. 2 keeps the tranny in 2nd gear, good for when you're stuck in snow or trying to get around in snow.A 350Z would eat you alive. It's a 3.5 V6 that makes 300HP. If you wanted a faster car and keep it in the honda family, you couldve gotten an S2000, 5g Prelude, RSX-S, or if you insist on a civic the SI.

Sorry buddy, most of the responses you are getting are right on the dot. An automatic civic VS a 350z is an automatic loss for the Civic unless you had a crazy head start or something of that nature. LoL... Good luckCars you can try going up against are other stock civics of any year if you want to win races. But overall keep it on the track buddy...
