Why, because that is the way they made it. The DX is Honda's entry level civic, plain and basic. You can install another mirror if you would like. And of course you can install a custom radio system..... A/C, etc. The big plus about the DX is it's lightweight over many of the other civics. If you customize it you will have a large advantage over many of the others out there.

dx is the lowest end model targetting the customers who want just the car with a lowest possible assecesories and enhancements.all the speakers radio mirrors power windows doors etc were optional which made the car a real low on the price.such ones still exist and i always stay away from the dx trim of honda
