There is probably a keyhole in or under the side of the seat near the rear left. I had a V65 Magna and I think it had the key just beneath the seat on the left side of the bike. I am not sure on the shadow. That model might just have a nut and bolt that holds the rear of the seat assembly on. If you go to bikebandit.com they have exploded view diagrams of every bike made. Maybe that will be helpful to you. Another thing to try is, put the key into the keyhole. Try to turn it back to the left without pushing down on it. There are alot of Japanese bikes that use that as the release for their seats.
