Default My Honda Civic 2007 is advertised as 30 MPG city, 40 MPG highway. I am an excellent

driver and get 20-21 MPG.? The car is one month old; I feel deceived and upset. Are there lots of other customers with my same issue? What is our remedy??

You have to give the engine break in time about 1000 to 5000 miles. Most of your civics do get 30 mpg. You also have to keep in mind the gas quality sucks right now my car usually gets 35 mpg but right now its only getting about 29. so it's might not be the car

What octane gas are you using? Obviously, the higher the octane, the better the fuel. However, I was using 91 octane in my Alero and was getting about 25-30 mpg, and when I started using 89 and only using 91 every fourth tank, my mileage actually improved to 30-35 mpg, 40 freeway. Maybe give that a try. Don't use anything lower than about 88 octane though, it is just crappy gas. Hope that helps

wow that is some poor mileage even during break-in. some possible factors are heavy city driving during traffic or most likely underinflated tires.

I get a little over 30 mpg, and I have about 1500 miles total. It could be the way you are driving or check the tires.

what kind of driving are you doing-stop and go traffic. Highway driving will get you better mpg. do not be a lead foot tho.

The standards used to figure out the MPG of an automobile are severely flawed- usually you can check at a automotive website to see what the actual MPG is- not what is on the window sticker. Also, give it some time for the beak-in period- I get close to 30 MPG- highway miles that is.
