I was working in a car dealershop for about 3 months and a lot of people admired my car but not anything to serious...but there's one mechanic that has a honda civic si and he races...we never talked 2 much but he wanted me to race him...a month after I quit the job I left my car in the front of my house for about an hour and next thing u no its gone....2 weeks later I told one of my friends in my old job that my car got stolen...and that friend told the mechanic about it and i t just so happens that he juss knew where my car was....I went with it to check it out and it was my car stripped...this is kinda fishy because then he wanted to buy the shell of the car for 400 dollars....do u think this is fishy?? let me know what u think

its a common scam and probably what happened. the import industry has THE shadiest people in the world working in it so I say only work with people you trust and know.it may cost a little more but its worth it. people need to stop buying stolen parts, it just makes the cycle worse.

Unfortunately nothing really fishy about your car being stolen. You own a Honda Civic which is one of the most stolen cars in America. Where I live in Connecticut, if your car is stolen you can pretty much drive around the major cities and you just may find your car stripped or not. Police officers will not look for a stolen car unless there is some major crime behind it or you are some person of extreme importance. For your case, yes it's fishy that the guy knew where your car was. However, it could be that your vehicle was brought to a location where cars are usually dumped. I should know because I work in a bad neighborhood and I see cars that are obviously stolen and in the process (not actively but missing parts) of being stripped. No I don't call the Police, however cops pass by all the time and eventually the car get's towed by some towing company.
