i own a repair shop and cam gears are for exact timing,,and a regulator wont make it go faster it just stops it from flooding,,or getting too much gas this is all it does,,good luck.

Cam gears are the gears located on the front an rear of the cam shaft that turns the crank shaft and the distributor. Yeah!

Cam gears are used for adjusting the timing of the intake and exhaust valves to maximize performance. This is done when a car is strapped to the dyno and a tech makes adjustments to advance or retard the cam timing. Most Honda's are set pretty conservative from the factory and usually benefit from some slight adjustments.A fuel pressure regulator can help go faster, but it wont make your car faster. It helps because it deals with the fuel delivery to the engine. You can turn up the fuel pressure to get more fuel into the engine to make more power, but with more fuel being added, more air is needed too. These are more helpful on engines that have all sorts of aftermarket goodies added on....for example...My 00 Civic Si Coupe has a bolt-on intercooled/supercharger kit...because the supercharger is forcing more air into my engine, I can turn up the fuel pressure to get more fuel in there and make some more power.
