I heard about this. I can't quite remember what it was. Maybe transmission problems, but I'm not sure. But I know for sure that you should keep it in the lower RPMs until you get it fixed.

You should check your owner's manual and read the section on the transmission. I believe there are computer controls associated with the transmission and a failed self check could be indicated by a flashing "D" on the dash.As far as not starting... most, if not all, automatic transmissions are designed to allow starting in only two transmission selections, Park and Neutral. This keeps the car from lunging forward if started in a forward gear or lunging backward should it be started when in reverse. There is a gizmo called a neutral safety switch that could be failing in your car... When you go to start your car and it won't start in Park, try putting it in neutral. You might find it starts there.Still, it's time to bring it in for some troubleshooting... I would say the trouble is in the transmission and or shift linkage.Good luck!

It is throwing a DTC (diagnostic trouble code) or codes for the transmission. Could be a number of things, dosen't always mean you need to replace the transmission. For example a faulty TCU (Transmission Control Unit) could throw a code or a fault A/T lock-up solenoid. Take it to a shop and have them hook it up to the diagnostic machine so you can find out what is causing it. You can also find out yourself if you jump the two pin connector with a paperclip and see what code or codes it is throwing.
