These are the trim levels the Honda Civic is available in. The DX is the base model with the fewest "extra" features. This means it will probably come with manual windows and locks. The Ex is next, with a few more features and some other standard amenities. This upward trend continues with the GX, Hybrid and LX, up to the sporty Si (which will probably come with the best standard options.

DX- lowest level, very few extras, slowest motorEX- more extras, may have a faster motor than DXLX- lots of extras, probably the same motor as DXSi- most extras, fastest motor, better looking trim, etc.

these are what's called trims. To break it down in order, there are companies(honda) models(civic) and trims(dx ex lx...) different trims have different exact spec some differing in dimensions, some in performance, some in looks. Usually the price difference is around $1000 between trims. hope this helps.

All the answers are right except that EX is a higher trim than LX. It goes like this => DX, LX, EX.EX has leather seats LX does not. EX has disc brakes all over, disc brakes are an upgrade option in LX.Si is probably more expensive because it is more sportier, but is available only in the 2 door (coupe) model.

I think she was asking about a Honda Civic. No Civic ever came with the option of having leather upolstery from the factory in any of the trim levels. Also no Civic has 4 wheels disc brakes except for the Si. The order of trim levels based on the amount of factory equipped features goes like thisX - Base Trim level. Power Steering, ABS Brakes (If equipped), SRS Airbag system, A/C, SOHC (Single Overhead Cam) Engine.LX- Same as DX but with Power Windows, Power mirrors, Tachometer, larger wheels/tiresEX - Same as LX but with Power Moonroof, Larger displacent VTEC Engine (If Equipped), Body Color matched mirrors and side molding, Alloy Wheels (option), CD Player (Option)Si - Same as EX except with DOHC (Double Overhead Cam) Engine, Re-designed Interior/ExteriorMost base model civics came equipped with a 1.6L SOHC engine up until 2001, when it changed to a 1.7L engine. Then in 2006 they introduced a 1.8L SOHC engine. The Si came equppied with a 1.8L DOHC engine, similar to the engine in a '94 up Acura Integra. In the 2002 Si, Honda equipped them with the new K series motor (2.0L), the same motor found in the base model Acura RSX.

DX is base model - roll up windows, no power locks, 2 speaker stereo, black plastic door handles, and black plastic trim around the sides of the car.LX is mid level model - power windows, power locks, 4 speaker stereo, colored door locks and trim around the side.EX - Top of the line. Everything the LX has plus a sunroof, rims, and keyless remote.
