Default Anyone know a reliable, reasonable Honda mechanic in San Francisco?

The trunk lock on my girlfriend's '93 Honda Del Sol is broken. The key won't turn in the lock at all, and there's no release switch on the inside, so there's no way to open the trunk. The dealership wants $500 to replace the lock, which seems ridiculous. Any suggestions?

Well first of all I work for Menlo Honda in Redwood city.Is the key itself worn? If so that may be a simple solution. Or you can also try to shoot some wd-40 into the lock cylinder in case it is jammed with dirt-spray it in and then put the key in and out about 10 times to clean out any debris. If it is the lock cylinder itself that is bad then they may be quoting you to replace the cylinder and rekey it which does take a couple hours labor but still that $500 sounds high.
