Default 1993 honda accord?

i have a 93 honda accord.... I bought it about 2 weeks ago. the guy i bought it from said that about once every other month while driving it, it would just shut down. he said that if you let it sit for about 30 minutes it will start back up. yesterday while driving the car shut down. the motor just stops or something,,, i waited 30 mins, it started but then i only got about 3 miles and it happened again only now it won't start back up. it will turn over but just doesn't fire. someone said it could be the fuel filter, but the guy i bought it from said that he thought it was the ignition module. what are yours thoughts???

It sounds to me like it's the alternator... that's what takes over running your car after the battery starts it up. Very expensive to fix.. probably more than the car is worth.

If it was the fuel filter then it wouldn't just die it would probably sputter and choke - it sounds like a module . The best way is to take it to the dealer he has codes for all that and will know whats wrong - its a bit pricey but knowing whats happening is worth it

Ignition module - pretty common on Honda's during that time. You may want to check to see if there is a recall on yours that was not performed. You might get it for free!

if the car kind of seemed like it stalled, then it could be the alternator. and alternators are NOT costly enough that it would be more than the car is worth. that person did not know what they were talking about.
