it should feel nice and smooth i mean it shouldnt be slipping or anything not with 42000 miles on it

It should feel as though it is doing its job the same as at 2000 miles if not it may be needing to be power bled to get rid of a spongy feel .Air in the hydraulis system can cause this spongy feeling.

the clutch should have about an 1inch to 11/2 tel it will engage the clutch , and about 1/2 give or take inch on top play clutch out ---- should not have any shutter in first gear. it should have smooth engage
