If it is the 'ball joint' and it maybe. It has to fixed NOW.The wheel could come off. NO steering NO breaks dangerous. There is NO time to wait, there are other things in the front end affect breaking and steering control. A mechanic, any mechanic can check out the ball joints in seconds. If it is a shock that is not as serious but it also effects steering and as an effect on breaking in a straight line..Have it looked at right away.

As far as I recall, the brakes are on the front. Thus, there could be something loose. I would suggest getting a mechanic to look at it and find out what it is.

i own a repair shop, and it could be a bad ball joint on it causing this to happen, also a bad strut will do this ,,on this one you might need to raise it up,and check for anything that is loose or worn out on it,its old enough to maybe have bad struts and tie rod ends or ball joint sin it,,you,ll just have to check for anything that could be bad on it,,also the top bearings that the struts ride on ,go bad a lot on these cars,if you don't find it,,you might want to have it checked out real good by a front end shop,,good luck with it,i hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.

could be the strut, could be the bearing, it could be a multitude of things, and unless youre more specific about the noise/location and unless you have some knowledge of the car yourself nothing will tell you will be able to diagnose it properly
